With 2 engraved title pages, each with the title in a large scrollwork cartouche and the arms of the dedicatee, Philipp Heinhofer or Hainhofer, 50 numbered oval emblems in rectangles (8.5 x 12 cm) in the first volume. The second volume has, besides the engraved title page, 23 wholly engraved leaves, each with an emblem (9.5 x 10.5 cm) with the German motto above, a Latin distich below, and below that a 4-line German verse. The emblem pages in both volumes are printed on the rectos only except for the colophon on the back of the last emblem in volume 1. 17th-century sheepskin parchment.
