Set in 3 sizes of rotunda gothic types, with the title in roman capitals. Contemporary blind-tooled sheepskin(?) parchment over wooden boards, sewn on 2 double cords, in a panel design with quadruple fillets and 2 decorative rolls (one with winged heads and tassles, the other with quatrefoils in lozenges), brass catch-plates and anchor-plates (straps and clasps lost). Set in Venetian-style roman types, with 14 mm typographic Roman capitals (probably by Peter Schoeffer the younger) used as initials. Later half sheepskin, with the title in ink on the foot edge. [Leiden, Amsterdam, ca. 1834-1917]. Oblong 8vo (ca. 93 x 150 mm). With a calligraphed title page and a collection of 38 loose leaves (last blank) with contributions for this Album Amicorum, including 7 full-page washed pen and ink drawings, 4 watercolours, 1 embroidered flower, 1 portrait in relief (created by poking holes in the paper), 2 full-page drawings by the owner, and 7 full-page pen drawings by the owner's son Petrus Cornelius van Rossem. The edges of the leaves perfectly fitting the box are gilt. Contemporary gold-tooled red morocco book-shaped box with spine with green title label lettered in gold, gold-tooled turn-ins, marbled front pastedown, gilt edges, kept in a marbled paper slipcase.
