First edition of Wellekens and Vlaming's collection of georgic poetry, illustrated with engravings by Jan Goeree. Most of the poems are on gardens, fishing, ruins, arts, etc. It contains laureate poems on the outdoor places Hoogerwoerd and Eindenhout., and Vlaming's description in rhyme of five allegorical paintings made by Barent Graet in the house of his mother in law Agnes Block, which are also depicted, and eight heroic poems. The second edition, which was in fact a title-issue, was published in 1735 by Jacob ter Beek in Amsterdam.
With the bookplate of Henri Joseph Francotte mounted on the front pastedown. The boards are somewhat soiled and warped. The leaves are slightly browned. Otherwise a fine copy with wide margins. STCN 171537734; cf. Scheepers I, 203; Scheepers II, 297 (second ed.).
