Second edition of a fine series of 26 beautiful and delicate etchings of the sumptuous 17th-century Heemstede gardens (near Utrecht, not in the municipality Heemstede), including a bird's-eye view of the entire estate and detailed views of the gardens, house and other buildings, fountains, sculpture, hedges and trellises. Also shown are visitors strolling through the gardeners, horses, coaches, dogs, and gardeners at work with pruning saws. Each plate has a caption in Dutch and French (the bird's-eye view with a key to five numbered features).
