Rare copy of a privilege, including the translation of the Ottoman "Barato" or a version of an imperial privilege, extended to the Franciscan Order, for the restoration of the holy places in Jerusalem, granted by Sultan Amurath IV (1623-1640). The imprint bears a copy of the letter sent by Fray Antonio Vazquez, Procurator to the Holy Land - sent from the Court of the Great Turk, as the Spanish referred to the Ottoman ruler - which was received by Maldonado.
There are two issues of this imprint, one of them seems to be smaller in size, and 8 pp. long, this issue with the same collation as that of the Biblioteca Nacional de España. We traced 7 copies in institutions (only in Spain).
