Set of two business cards by Dutch etcher and engraver Leonardus Schweickhardt (1783-1862), in the original case. The first card shows his name and address, surrounding the paternoster engraved in a microscopic type within a circle the size of a Dutch stuiver. The second card also shows his name, address, and the paternoster, but now all text has been engraved within the circle. The paternoster has even engraved in such a small type, that it only takes up a sixth of the space. The cards were likely intended as a proof of Schweickhardt's considerable skill.
The case is slightly creased. The first card is very slightly stained. Otherwise in good condition. Rijksmuseum items RP-P-2021-8011 and RP-P-2021-8010.
