Contemporary account of the major events and conflicts occurred in the first two years year of the Guerra de los Segadores, also known as the Catalan Revolt or the Reapers War (1640-1652). The work accounts other principal events occurred at Tortosa, Barcelona, Terragona, Martorell, Lérida, Martorell, Perpiñan, and so on.
Included is the narration of the important Battle of Montjuic (1641), which marked the official start of the lengthy Guerra de los Segadores that lasted approximately 9 years. This long war, which affected almost the entire Principality of Catalonia, started with the discontentment of the Catalans by the presence of the Castilian troops in the region during the wars between France and Spain.
The first edition, published in Barcelona, is regarded as Palau as "muy estimada". The present copy is probably the second Catalan edition, with the preliminaries of the Portuguese translation of the same year. It is unclear if the head margin at some point contained page numbers that were lost when the margin was cut short or that there were not any page numbers. See Palau 285725 (second Catalan ed.) and 285276 (Portuguese ed.).
The head margin is cut short, without affecting the text. The corners of the blank margins of the leaves are occasionally very slightly stained. Otherwise in very good condition. Palau, 285725 and 285726; USTC 5036258 (3 copies); WorldCat 23775406, 433609675, 1045841604, 68682055, 224501317 (10 copies, incl. 1 incomplete); cf. USTC 5018526 (unclear if first or second Catalan ed.).
