Early German translation of copy of the Oratorio de religiosos y Exercicio de virtuosos by Antonio de Guevara (c. 1480-1545); one of the few religious treatises written by the popular Spanish writer.
The treatise consists of a series of short exhortations or homilies, with a text prefixed to each, written in the same style like his other works. Guevaras mannerism and imagery widely influenced fellow Baroque writers and those who followed him in the 16th- and 17th century.
This ascetic work is one of the most renowned texts of the Spanish author, historian moralist and later Bishop of the Renaissance, Antonio de Guevara (c. 1480-1545).
