Fine illustrated German almanac, with a calendar, and literary contributions, including poetry, a story in prose, and several aphorisms. Most are signed only with initials, but two have been signed by Von Münchausen. Each month in the calendar is accompanied by a poem. Several of these are listed at the beginning, which means they were considered suitable to use in an Album Amicorum. The plates, not accompanied by explanatory texts, illustrate scenes from a theatre play, and show Romantic scenes after paintings by Buchhöltz.
The boards are slightly rubbed, some discolouration at the top where the boards are not covered by the slipcase. The frontispiece and title page are detached, but still present, the page edges of the second half of the work are darker than those of the first half, but the two halves likely belong together, pencil markings on the verso of one of the plates and the last free flyleaf. Otherwise in good condition. The children's world of learning 2484; not in Köhring; Lanckoronska-Rümann; Vandenhole.
