A classic of travel literature, the book recounts Thesigers travels across the Rub al Khali (Empty Quarter) of the southern Arabian Peninsula between 1945 and 1950. Thesigers narrative captures the lives of the Bedouins and other inhabitants of the Arabian Peninsula.
