Lawrence was a diplomat and an officer in the British army, known for his role during the Arab Revolt (1916-1918) and the Sinai and Palestine campaign (1915-1918). Because of his activities, and his abilities to describe his experiences vividly, he became widely known. The film based on his life is still very influential and often considered one of the best films of all time.
