Charming set of children's miniature books with instructive reading about both the positive and negative aspects of each of the four elements: earth, air, water, and fire. Each volume focusses on one of the elements and includes two steel-engraved plates, showing the harvest and an earthquake for earth, a hot air balloon and a storm for air, a flood and children in a fishing boat for water, and a volcanic eruption and a burning house for fire. A detail of one of the plates in each volume is used for the illustration on the front board of that volume.
