Cheerful and polite letter by Willem Frederik of Orange (1772-1843), from 1815 King William I of the Netherlands, to his mother-in-law Frederica Louisa of Hesse-Darmstadt, Queen of Prussia (1751-1805). He married her daughter Wilhelmine of Prussia (1774-1837) on 1 October 1791, the day before the letter is dated. The marriage festivities took place at Berlin and lasted 17 days.
