Ad 1: First edition of a monograph on the land and fresh-water molluscs that can be found in Agen and surroundings (France), by the French malacologist Jean-Baptiste Gassies (1816-1883). He describes four classes of snails and mussels, some of which are depicted on the hand-coloured lithographed plates.Ad 2: First separately published edition of a brief work on the land and fresh-water molluscs of Aquitaine, also by Gassies. The text was originally published in the 26th part of the Actes de la Soc. Linn. de Bordeaux.
