Re-issue of the first edition (1644) of the Italian translation by Marco Ginammi of two tracts giving an account of the Spanish conquest of the West Indies and South America, written by Bartolomé De Las Casas (1474-1566), a warm defender of the rights of the indigenous population and opponent of Spanish oppression. The tracts first appeared in Spanish under the title Una disputa, o contoverse entre... iniquas and Principia queda exquibus procedendum est in disputatione ... Yndorum (Sevilla, 1552).
