Enlarged edition, in the original Latin, of Calvin's seminal work of Protestant theology, known in English as The institutes of the Christian religion. It details the doctrines that became known as Calvinism.
With some owner's inscriptions on paste-down and title-page. Title-page slightly soiled and wrinkled, tear in title-page and leaf 312, minor water stain the upper margin of the first 40 leaves.
