Famous work on a gentleman's recreation, bird catching, hunting and fishing, published under the initials F.F.F.R.D.G., meaning Frère François Fortin, Religieux de Gramont. First published in 1660, the book proved very popular and the prototype of the genre. The present third edition is dedicated to François Daix, Comte de la Chaize, and adds an extra treatise on hunting at the end, by Charles Strosse.
