Contemporary ivory vellum over boards, ribbed spine gilt in compartments with title written in ink, double gilt fillets along the edges and double gilt inner fillets with gilt corner pieces (crowns), on both sides, sprinkled edges: bound by the famous Amsterdam book binder Albertus Magnus for the Dutch collector Paulus van Uchelen (see ill. in our Cat.107, p. 17). Printed title in large engraved border by Jacques de Gheyn II, made for Den Nassauschen Lauren-crans (Leiden 1610; afb. in: The new Hollstein, The De Gheyn family II, p. 120), full-page coat of arms of Prince Maurits with an emblematic device underneath "Tandem fit surculus arbor" on the verso, full-page engraved portrait of Maurits by J. Matham, 13 half-page engraved portraits of counts and princes of the Nassau family in the "Genealogie", 2 double-page engraved maps of the Netherlands and Brabant and 41 double-page (2 folding) engraved plans and bird-eye views of cities and battles, possibly by Pieter Bast, in the "Lauriers de Nassau".
