On the floodings of 1740-41 in Gelderland as the punishment of God - Authorized by the signature of the author View picture(s) 10 THEMMEN, Wilhelmus. Gots regtveerdige gerigtshandel, met de inwoonders van Neerlant, door het gewelt van winden en waateren. Om den vloed hunner steigerende sonden door den vloed van ooverloopende rivieren gevoelig te bestraffen, en den sorgeloosen hoop teegens het bruysen der vyandlyke volcken te waartschouwen; op dat lant en kerke door hun heïermagt niet schielyk ooverompelt, en met al hun heerlykheit verslonden werden. Vervat in eene verhandelinge van den uyterlyken en geestelyken waatervloed. Ter geleegenheit van dien hoogen kersvloed van het jaar 1740. Waar door een meenigte van huysen, schueren, hoeven en ackers, soo in de Betuwe, als in 't Land van Maas en Waal, Kuyk en Ravestein, Heusden en Altena, de Graafschappen van Buuren en Kuilenburg, als ook de Tieler- en Alblasser-waard en meer andere, jammerlyk ooverstroomt syn.
