Charming contemporary embroidered binding of gold threads, on both covers forming also rococo carthouches for two emblematical watercolours: on the front cover Cupid with an empty quiver is standing on a landing stage and is crossing the border between life (blossoming flowers) and death (a dark landscape with dead trees), with the motto: "Je te vois icy perir il te faut comme moi mourir"; on the back a winged Cupid is sitting on the seashore holding an anchor, with the motto "Je ne m'attache qu'au solide"; decorated floral paper pastedowns.
