Second enlarged Dutch edition  of the  poetical works by Edward Young (1683-1765), English poet and playwright and from 1728 Chaplain to the King. It was first published as The Complaint, or night thoughts on life, death and immortality  with the first four ''Nights'' in 1742. The fifth in 1743, sixth and seventh in 1744, the eighth and ninth 1745. The Night thoughts were instigated by three successive deaths in his near family: his wife Elisabeth, daughter of Eduard Henry Lee in 1741, his stepdaughter (1736) and her husband (1740).
