XX, 289, (1 blank with mounted Errata-leaf); VIII, 289, (1 blank) pp. First edition of the first History of North Carolina, but only treating its history in general before North Carolina became an independent state, stopping at the beginning of the 1770's. At the end a large section is devoted to the geographical, climatological and economical situation of the state, and some 70 pages of "Proofs and Explanations" are added. Especially these sections make the work still of interest, as of course does the fine map of North Carolina. Good copy.- (Bindings sl. rubbed; few wormholes in the top margin at the beginning, and in the outer margin at the end of volume II).
