First and only German edition of the originally English pamphlet Account of the reasons of the nobility and gentry's invitation of His Highness the Prince of Orange into England (1688). Here it is translated from the Dutch edition Memorie van de Engelsche protestanten aan haare Hoogheden den Prince en Princesse van Orangie.
The author Sir John Wildman (c. 1621 - June 2 , 1693), the author of many political pamphlets was an English soldier and politician. He was a large buyer of the land forfeited by the royalists, and in 1654 he entered the House of Commons as member of the First Protectorate Parliament for Scarborough. In about 1685 he went to Holland, and returned to England with the army of William of Orange in 1688. In 1689 he was a member of the convention parliament. He was knighted by King William III in 1692.
