Two rare drawing manuals intended for the young art lover and art student by the publisher Georg Heinrich Werner (d. 1788) who lived in Erfurt as an engraver and medallion and medal cutter at the court of Elector Heinrich XXXVI of Salzburg (dedicatee of the first work) and Fürst Christian Günther, Fürst zu Schwarzburg, Graf zu Hohenstein, etc. (dedicatee of the second work). Werner explains the art of drawing of all kinds of subjects by the principles of geometry and perspective, specializing in the second work on the art of depicting flowers. He based his writings a.o. on the manuals of De Passe and Goeree.
