Popular Dutch translation in verse by the Antwerp rhetorician, Cornelis van Ghistele, of Virgil's "Aeneas", first published at Antwerp in 1556. Jan van Waesberghe had already published an edition at Antwerp in 1589, and fleeing Antwerp for the Spaniards he republished the book twice at Rotterdam, in 1599 and our edition in 1609. The book is nicely illustrated with popular woodcuts, and printed in Gothic type with legenda in a small Roman type in the margins.
