First edition of this extensive description of 16 walking-tours through Amsterdam, for instance from the Muiderpoort to the Amstel marina with a trip to Ouderkerk (pp. 47-62) and alongside the Prinsengracht, starting at the height of the Brouwersgracht to the Amstel (pp. 356-82). The last tour is an evening and night stroll (pp. 383-8). Complete with the 8 pp. Aanmerkingen, verbeteringen, bijvoegsels en teregtwijzingen op de wandelingen in en om Amsterdam.  The plates depict parts of Amsterdam.
Cornelis van der Vijver (Amsterdam 1784-1855) was a teacher who, besides some children's books, mainly wrote works on the history of Amsterdam. In 1824 he completed his Wandelingen in en om Brussel in den jare 1823, 1824, containing walking-tours through Brussels. But he became most known because of his books on Amsterdam, of which this present is the earliest.
