With woodcut printer's device on title, and woodcut initials in text. (48; last 5 blank), 304 pp. First German edition and first edition published outside Italy of this much reprinted juridical manual on (the law of) inheritance and making testaments by the 16th-century Italian lawyer Rolandus a (della) Valle. The first edition was published in Venice in 1572 (appeared in 1573) with the printer Somaschi. Further editions were printed in Cologne till far into the 17th century. No editions from this publisher earlier than 1600 in STC German. The book is dedicated by Rolandus a Valle to Vincentio Gonzaga of Mantua. Good copy.- (Library stamp on title).
