Rare first edition of a theoretical and practical treatise on optical and perspectival instruments and one of the earliest instructions on the use of glasses for all sorts of viewing at all distances. Marc Mitouflet Thomin (ca. 1707-1752), was optical engineer at Paris and a member of the Société des Arts. All sorts of perspectival and optical instruments are discussed and their rules and practical uses explained.
