XII, (4, 1, 1 blank), 284; 297, (3 blank); 281, (3 blank) pp. Beautiful and important Bodoni edition of Tacitus's complete works, dedicated to the Duke Ferdinand de Parme and edited by Vicenzo Jacobacci. In 1795 3 issues of the first edition were printed, of which the first issue existed of 30 copies only, printed on velin paper. Our copy is one of the second, large paper issue. The work consists of 3 volumes, which contain, besides the books of Tacitus, a dedication by Bodoni and a typographical advice in the first volume. Printing Tacitus agrees with the tradition, applied by Bodoni, of printing all the major classics. Fine copy.- (Bookplate in 3 vols. on inside front cover, name removed; ms. entry on 3 title-pages).
