Editio secunda. Frankfurt & Jena, for Georg Heinrich Oehling, 1685. 4to. Ad 1: The sixth edition of this celebrated manual on feudal law by the well-known lawyer/jurist Georg Adam Struve (1619-1692), professor of law at Jena and considered one of the most important German jurists of the seventeenth century and of the 'usus modernus'. The first edition was published in 1653 and the work was so successful that there are at least 20 editions till 1734. In 1658 Struve published his Syntachma juris civilis, followed by his Jurisprudentia Romano-Germanicae forensis in 1670 on the Institutiones, the so-called 'kleine Struve'. Ad 2: The second edition of Struve's further observations on the same subject, considered the continuation, or second vol. of (1). Good copy with ownership's entry of T. Fletcher on title.- (Binding somewhat shaved, sl. browned at places as usual).
