Rare French edition of a beautiful illustrated book on garden art with romantic descriptions of houses and gardens after the latest fashion, first published with the same publisher in 1796. A German edition was published in 1804. The fine designed plates are divided in three series: I-IA-G, II-IIA-H, and 1-11. The series I and II each show an overall plan of a house and garden, followed by a number of detailed views of that house and gardens. The last series presents garden buildings with their ground-plans and garden furniture.

Fine copy.
