Ad 1: Rare third edition (first ed. 1766) of a guide for novices who want to learn the art of navigation. The work is divided in six books and an appendix in which a.o. the following subjects are treated: the use of globes & compasses, navigation maps and the calculation of tides. The work is illustrated with an folding engraved plate on which several mathematical figures are depicted, woodcut tables and many illustrations in text to facilitate the given information. This edition of the work is much enlarged and improved by Jacob Floryn, who was a mathematician.
Ad 2: Mathematical work consisting of woodcut tables of the sinus, tangent, secant as well as the logarithms of countless numbers. This work is usually bound together with an edition of Grond-beginzels der stuurmans-kunst.
