First edition of a practical manual on clocks by Johann Matthias Stöckel, a German clockmaker and mechanic, explaining the making of all kinds of clocks, from tower clocks to wall clocks, including the required calculations and measurements. The work clearly illustrates the instructions given, showing cogwheels in different sizes, dials, weights, etc., as well as a circular calendar with the rising and setting of the sun and the moon, also depicting the signs of the zodiac.
