First edition of a description of Curaçao, (Netherlands Antilles) by G.J. Simons, minister at the island. The work treats the geography, history, religion, administration etc. The last part deals with the flora and fauna (pp. 132-156), giving the native names of the creatures and their medicinal use.
Without portrait; some soiling and tears. Nice copy, with manuscript dedication signed by the author to chief rabbi J. van J. Ferares  at The Hague.
