(8), 207, (4) lvs. One of the most esteemed early works on the history and geography of Switzerland, orginally published at Zürich in 1574 and/or 1576. Josias Simmler (1530-1576), was professor in Mathematics at Zürich and later also in Theology. The present work was much republished and translated into French and German, and still in 1744 it was edited and enlarged by Fuessli. The finely cut views, here in fine strong impressions, show bird eye's views of Uri, Svitia, Unterwalden, Luzern, Zürich, Glarus, Zug, Bern, Fribourg, Solothurn, Basel, Schaffhausen, and Appenzell. Fine copy.- (Waterstain in lower margin).
