Extremely rare original and only edition of this manual on the difficult art of colouring scheep'woollen fabric. In his introduction, dated Hamburg, spring 1851, the author Hermann Schrader, "Kunst- und schönfärber" in Hamburg and Vienna, states that he describes the art of colouring of sheep's wool according to the most modern insights. He claims to have sufficient authority as he has published already more than one book on the subject, f.e. his Lehrbuch der gesammten Wollen- oder Schönfärberei. The samples are coloured by the author himself following the recipes given in this book. In an addendum the author describes the "Ombriren der Wollgarne".

Good copy of this rare booklet.- (The samples are pasted in and have caused some impression on the previous pages).
Not found recorded (only one copy found in a German public library).
