Contemporary vellum, spine gilt-lined with small rosettes in the compartments, with gilt double fillet borders and inner panel on sides with gilt flowered ornaments at the four inner-corners and gilt coat-of-arms of Rotterdam in centre on both sides, g. Scholarly edition of the work on ancient Roman life and customs by the German author Johannes Rosinus (ca. 1560-1626), with detailed studies by Paulus Manutius and Schottus added.
Good copy in a Rotterdam prize-binding, but without the praemium.- (Binding sl. soiled; sl. loosening in spine).
No Rotterdam prize-bindings in quarto in the "Prijs is het Bewijs", nor in "Aanvulling", although the decoration of the octavo-bindings seem rather similar, cf. 81 and 82.
