With 72 full-page lithographed views of the old Dutch  castles and mansions, mostly after designs by J.F. Christ. With 4 to 10 pp. description and 4 to 10 pp. historical  notes to each plate, and 8 pp. introduction.

First edition, originally published in parts, of a beautiful series of lithographed views of all the famous old Dutch manors and castles and gardens, newly designed and executed by the most famous lithographers of the period, P. Lauters, M. Mourot, C.C.A. Last, etc. with historical descriptions by Christianus Petrus Eliza Robidé van der Aa (1791-1851), a prolific poet and literator.
The lithographs show depictions of the castles of Nyenrode, Zuylesteyn, Maurick, Amerongen, Amerzoden, Oijen, Wyarda, Ter Heyl etc.

Good copy with bookplate of G.W. v.d. Pot and ms. ownership signature on first blank.- (Binding sl. rubbed; front hinge partly broken).
