The rare first edition of the poems and songs of the popular Dutch Renaissance poet Jacob Revius (1586-1658), republished and enjoyed up to the present day. The melodies to which the poems are to be sung are indicated at the head of each song. Revius was a minister of the Church in Zeddam, Winterswijk, Aalten and finally in Deventer. He also wrote a still valuable history of the latter city, under the title: "Daventria Illustrata", published in 1651.
