Rare Dutch translation by J.v.H. (=) Jan van Hoogstraten (1662-1756) of the original French edition Histoire des Indes Orientale, published in the same year in Paris, by the secretary of the French East India Company, Urbain Souchu de Rennefort (ca. 1630-1689). In 1668 Rennefort had published the first volume: Relation du premier voyage de la Comagnie des Indes Orientales a l'ile de Madagascar ou Dauphine. Also of great interest for i.a. Brazil, Cape Verde Islands, Ceylon, Chochin, Cape of Good Hope, etc.
