Sneek, F. Holtkamp, (ca. 1815). Catchpenny print. Folio. With 20 small woodcuts between black-lined borders, depicting a variety of trades and professions, like a printer, postman, grocer, parson, soldier, sailor, fruit seller, fish woman, etc., also incl. some classical gods, like Bacchus and Ceres, fun at the fair, etc., each woodcut with title underneath and all coloured by thumb with red and yellow.

Nice print, but rather crudely coloured, produced by J. Noman in Zaltbommel with the address of one of his retailers, F. Holtkamp in Sneek. Noman had taken over the blocks from W.G. van de Sande & Co. in Amsterdam, where the print was also numbered 19, but where it had bilingual text, Dutch and French. Noman left out the French text as well as the title. The title quoted above is taken from De Meyer's catalogue of W.G. van de Sande & Co. The print is also known with the address of Noman, dated 1815.

Good copy.- (Some sl. defects to fold in the middle; sl. frayed at edges).
De Meyer p. 61 and Noman cat. 19; cf. De Meyer, Van de Sande cat. 19; Cat. Van Rijn 1286 (with Noman's address).
