Extremely rare complete set of the Danish Atlas by Erich Pontoppidan, continued after the author's death in 1768 by Hans de Hofman, and richly illustrated with the latest maps and views of all important views and buildings of Denmark,  engraved by I. Haas, I.G. Schmid, etc. Next to its value as a rich and beautiful atlas of eighteenth century Denmark, the work also is of considerable importance for its extensive and scholarly discription and history of the country, from its origin up till date. In each volume a list of plates is  given, and a full index is added at the end.

Fine set, seldom found complete.- (With old owner's ms. entry, C. Worgod on first blank, dated 1798, and small stamp of his initials on titles; few insignificant defects and repairs).
