(6), 416 pp. The year 1802 complete of the rare educational weekly of the Dutch educational society "Tot Nut van 't Algemeen", department Groningen, with the additional title and list of contents. The periodical contains several contributions by W. Nieuwenhuis, one of the founders of the society, by H.O. Feith, P. Klomp, H.A. Spandaw, a.o., including translations after the German by a.o. Salzmann. With discussions but also exemplary stories on morals, and instructieve pieces on science. Several issues are devoted to the lecture delivered by the Department Groningen at a meeting of the society in Haarlem. One issue is devoted to the position of women, another discusses the profession of the schoolteacher, etc. The periodical was not especially aimed at children, but at the whole family, including pieces fit for children to read. Good copy.- (Binding sl. rubbed; sl. waterstained).
