New enlarged edition of this popular traveller's guide for the  Netherlands, first published at Leiden in 1651. Jean Nicolas De Parival (1605-1669), born in Verdun, came to the Netherlands in 1624, where he stayed for 26 years. He taught French at Leyden and published also books on French grammar and conversation. The present work was a success and was republished many times until late in the 18th century.
