Ad 1: Dutch adaptation of the French comedy by Jean Palaprat, seigneur de Bigot (1650-1721): Le secret révélé. The privilege on p. 3-4, granted to the de Regenten van de Amsterdamse Schouwburg (the Trustees of the Amsterdam Theatre), is dated 1699, the probable year of the first edition. Underneath the Privilege is stated that the Trustees have transferred it to the Heirs of J. Lescailje in 1707. The comedy is dedicated to Hendrik Blankenhage. Ad 2: Dutch translation of a comedy by the famous French author of comedies Florent Carton Dancourt (1661-1725). Jean-Jacques Rousseau has said of him that "Dancourt n'était bon que pour amuser les libertins et les femmes perdueés". The comedy is dedicated to Daniel van Mollem. Ad 3: Comedy dedicated to Jan Goeree by the author 'J.D.R.' (= Jan de Rijk). The original privelege (p. 5-7) is dated 1728, transferred to Izaak Duim for this edition only in 1737. Van Doorninck mentions an edition of 1694. Ad 4: Edition of this comedy by F. Rijk, for which a Privilege (p. 3-5) originally was given in 1699. The Trustees of the Amsterdam Theatre have transferred this privilege to the heirs of J. Lescailje in 1713. Ad 5: Edition of this comedy by P. de la Croix, for which a Privilege (p. 3-4) originally was given in 1684. The Trustees of the Amsterdam Theatre have transferred the privilege to Albert Magnus in 1685 and his heirs have transferred it to Hendrik Bosch in 1727. Ad 6: Original edition of this comedy by P. de la Croix by the printer of many comedies and plays in Amsterdam, Albert Magnus. Good copy.
