Best edition of Ozanam's most popular work, enlarged by Grandin, containing many entertaining mathematical, geometrical, optical, cosmographical, mechanical and problems. Volume three is partly devoted to recreational fireworks. The first edition had appeared in 1694; this is the final edition in the original form of this well-known work, which was afterwards almost entirely rewritten by Montucla.
