With woodcut printer's mark on title, engraved armorial headpiece to the dedication, 19 engraved small illustrations in text by N. Guerard (c. 50 x 60 mm), and woodcut haed- and tail-pieces and initials (8), (69) lvs.; collation: )(-2)(4, A-R4, (S)2-1.

Nicely produced and finely illustrated first and only edition of a choice selection of fables from Ovid's Metamorphoses, translated into Swedish by Jacob Reenstierna. The book is dedicated to Charlotte Piper and signed by the translator/editor Reenstierna, dated Norkiöping, 10 December 1708 (ff. (1)v-(6)v), folowed by a preface by G. Peringer Lilieblad (ff. (7)r-(8)v). The text of the swedish translation of a number of Ovidian fables is on ff. (1)r-(68)r; (68)v blank); on the recto of the last fol. are the 'Tryckfeel' (errata).
