First edition of a richly illustrated and most extensive description and history of British India, published as Volume I in the series: "Vreemde Landen en Volken". Only 2 more volumes were published in the series, one on Japan and one on China. The series was published anonymously, while the volumes also were published separately under the name of the author. Our copy has both titles, that of the series and that of the separate publication.
