XX, 396; [2], 367, [32] pp. First edition of the English translation by Johann Reinhold Forster (1729-1798) of these two accounts of Swedish voyages to the East Indies, written by Peter (or Pehr) Osbeck, and Olof Toreen. The original Swedish text, Dagbok öfwer en Ostindisk resa åren 1750, 1751, 1752, was published in 1757. Forster translated his text from the German translation which had appeared in 1765, and dedicated his translation to Thomas Pennant, dated Warrington, 1 December 1770. The preface by Osbeck himself is dated Stockholm, 25 April 1757. Re-backed. Very good set.
