Small text book of a popular opera on the theme of the beautiful Greek youth Endymion, loved by the Moon goddess Selene. The opera, including ballet, was performed at Turin in 1699 in the presence of royalty, and the present libretto was published as program for the opera visitors. At the end a list with Errata is added with apologies for the errors because of the hurry to print the book in time for the opera's performance. The story of Endymion inspired art and literature through centuries. Well known is Keats' famous poem "Endymion" which contains the immortal line: "A thing of beauty is a joy for ever".
